Neuromodulators like Jeuveau and Xeomin are injectable treatments widely used for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the treated areas. Typically, the effects of Jeuveau and Xeomin last about 3 to 4 months. However, the exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the individual's metabolism, the specific muscles injected, the dose administered, and how often the individual has had such treatments in the past. Regular maintenance treatments are often required to sustain the desired effects. It's always best to consult with a qualified healthcare professional such as myself to see if you are an appropriate candidate for such treatment.
Erbium YAG lasers do not "see" color in the way that human eyes do; rather, they operate based on specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by the target tissue. The erbium YAG laser typically emits light at a wavelength of 2940 nanometers, which is strongly absorbed by water in the skin. This makes it particularly effective for procedures involving skin resurfacing and tissue ablation. A Erbium YAG laser can be safe for individuals with Fitzpatrick skin type IV, which includes light brown skin that tans easily but can also burn. This type of laser is less likely to cause thermal damage compared to other types of lasers, making it a suitable option for skin resurfacing and other cosmetic procedures.
HA fillers (Hyaluronic Acid fillers) are designed to add volume and hydration to the skin, providing immediate results and are typically resorbable over time. CAHA biostimulators, like Radiesse, contain Calcium Hydroxylapatite, which not only fills in wrinkles but also stimulates collagen production, offering longer-lasting effects and improving skin texture over time. In short, HA fillers focus on immediate volume, while CAHA biostimulators promote long-term rejuvenation.
Microneedling
- Uses a device with fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin.
- Primarily improves skin texture, reduces fine lines, acne scars, and enhances overall skin tone.
- Recovery time is generally quick, with minimal redness and swelling.
RF Microneedling
- Combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, delivering heat deeper into the skin layers.
- Not only stimulates collagen production but also tightens the skin, making it effective for sagging or loose skin
- Typically provides more dramatic and longer-lasting results compared to standard microneedling.
- Recovery may include slight swelling or redness, but downtime is usually minimal.
Both treatments can be effective for skin rejuvenation, but RF microneedling often offers enhanced tightening benefits. Having a consultation prior to your treatment can help determine which option is best for you.
Semaglutide is a prescription medication used to aid in weight loss and manage type 2 diabetes. It mimics a hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which helps regulate appetite, reduces hunger signals, and improves blood sugar levels. Semaglutide is administered via a once-weekly injection.
